the route
This journey sits comfortably in the moderate category, which in practice means you’ll work up a sweat – but the routes are manageable for most people. The stages typically involve around 4–5 hours of walking, and although there are both ascents and descents, they take place on good paths, historic mule tracks and well-marked trails.
Itinerary
You arrive in Naples and your hotel in the historic city centre. If you arrive early, you can take a relaxed stroll through the lively streets and get your first taste of the city’s energy, culture and the scent of espresso. Naples is vibrant, colourful and full of surprises – a perfect start to the week.
Hotel (example): Palazzo Salgar
You take the boat to Capri, where a full day of spectacular nature and stunning views awaits. You’ll pass the famous Piazzetta, stroll along elegant streets and continue up to Villa Jovis and Villa Lysis, both rich in fascinating history. The trail leads past the Natural Arch and on towards the Faraglioni rocks, one of Italy’s most photographed sights. Your circular walk finishes through the charming Gardens of Augustus and along the winding Via Krupp, before returning to Naples by boat.
Please note: Boat tickets are not included in the tour price. There are several options operating year-round with frequent daily departures. The ferry costs approx. €16 per person each way, the fast ferry approx. €25 per person each way, and the hydrofoil approx. €28 per person each way (and is the fastest option). Advance booking is not necessary.

You take the train (not included) from Naples to Pompeii and experience a city almost frozen in time. You can walk among villas, markets, temples and mosaics that offer a vivid insight into life nearly 2,000 years ago. If you have the energy for more, you can head up Mount Vesuvius and walk along the crater rim, where impressive views over the entire bay await. The day ends with some time in modern Pompeii – where an aperitivo never hurts.
Please note: Entrance to Vesuvius National Park is not included and must be booked in advance of arrival. We will provide a link in the practical tour information, and the price is approximately €12 per person.

Today, you have several options: a full day in Naples, a visit to Herculaneum or perhaps a trip to colourful Procida. In Naples, you can explore impressive buildings, charming neighbourhoods, underground tunnels and the renowned archaeological museum. Later, you’ll be picked up by your private transfer and driven up to the Agerola plateau – high above the Amalfi Coast, where the views begin to truly impress.
Hotel (example): Nonna Martina
You start in Bomerano and descend through the Praia Valley, surrounded by steep cliffs and small vineyards. Along the way, you pass caves, small chapels and the village of Furore before reaching its impressive fjord landscape. From here, you follow the old medieval mule path that leads you through historic villages and terraced landscapes all the way to Amalfi. You can explore the town or take a swim before catching the bus back to Agerola.
Hotel (example): Nonna Martina
From your accommodation, you step مباشرة onto one of the world’s most famous walking trails: Sentiero degli Dei (the Path of the Gods). Terraces, cliffs and sea views follow you all the way to Nocelle and on to Montepertuso. After a beautiful descent, you reach Positano, bursting with colourful houses, stairways and small boutiques. Spend some time in town or take a dip in the sea before catching the boat to Amalfi, where you’ll stay overnight.
Hotel (example): Hotel Floridiana
You take the bus up to Ravello, a town that has attracted artists, composers and writers for centuries – probably because the views make it hard to think about anything else. You’ll have time to visit Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone before heading down through forests, vineyards and lemon groves to Pontone. From here, you continue to Torre dello Ziro, a perfect picnic spot with views over both Amalfi and Atrani. The route then leads you down through the Valley of the Mills, with old paper mills, lush nature and small waterfalls, before returning to Amalfi.

The booking process
When you book the trip, we will begin booking hotels and arranging all the practical aspects of your tour. This process typically takes 5–8 working days, but in some cases it may take longer for certain bookings. If you arrange your own transportation, we recommend waiting until we have confirmed your booking before making any arrangements.
Dates
If you can select a date in the trip calendar (in the booking form), then this is a possible start date. We regularly update our trips with sold-out dates; these dates will then appear in red/grey and cannot be selected.
The flights to/from Rome or Naples are not included in the price. You can easily find a suitable flight via a flight booking engine such as Momondo or Skyscanner.
Rome or Napoli is the most accessible airports for Amalfi.
The tour from Rome/Napoli to Salerno, is most easily made by train. On www.trenitalia.com it is easy to get an overview of timetables and destinations on the Italian trains (Rome/Salerno takes between 2-3 hours, Napoli/Salerno takes about 40 minutes). Since it is difficult to purchase or change tickets online, we recommend that you buy them directly from the ticket machines at the train station before departure.
Notice: we recommend that you book with us and wait for the confirmation before you book your flights.

When you book a trip with us, we plant a tree in Kenya.
Bering Travel partners with Growing Trees Network, which has been planting trees in Kenya since 2020 in collaboration with Seniorer uden Grænser (Seniors Without Borders). The trees are planted with small-scale local farmers in the Mount Kenya region, as well as at schools, where the fruit helps supplement students’ diets and is incorporated into their learning.
The trees are planted using the shamba method – a sustainable approach that combines reforestation with agricultural crops. This keeps the soil covered with vegetation throughout the year, helping to prevent nutrient loss and reduce erosion.
The contribution to tree planting comes directly from Bering Travel’s own earnings and is not added to the price of your trip.
This initiative is not intended as a carbon offset for travel, but as a way to make a positive contribution.
