Itinerary
You'll arrive in the town of Saig, where you'll check into the first hotel of the tour and receive a welcome pack with directions and maps for the tour.
Hotel (example): Hotel Hochfirst
You start your hike from the ridge above the high ridge at Titisee. From there you have a beautiful view of Lake Titisee, Feldberg and the peaks of the Austrian and Swiss Alps. The trail leads you down to the first high point, the ‘Wutachschlucht’. In this nature reserve, an exciting primeval landscape with romantic gorges and cascading waterfalls awaits you. You end the day by taking the bus from Schattenmühle to your hotel in Löffingen.
Hotel (example): Linde
Start the day by taking the bus back to Schattenmühle and hike along the Wutach River through breathtaking scenery. Level paths lead you to Achdorf, where the river bends towards the Rhine. You'll reach today's destination Blumberg via the waterfalls of Schleifenbach. Once there, take a look at the ‘Gänseliesel’ fountain and the local carnival masks.
Hotel (example): Hirschen
Today's tour takes you over the Buchberg hill, from where you can see the famous Sauschwänzlebahn railway. In Randen you'll find an amazing site: the Blue Stone, a rock group of basalt columns up to 10 metres high, formed during the eruption of the westernmost Hegau volcanoes. The remaining kilometres take you through a charming landscape to today's destination Tengen.
Hotel (example): Hotel Bibermühle
The next stage takes you from Tengen past the Wannenberg hill over Duggenhart, one of the higher wooded hills crossed by the old post trail. From here you have a great view of the snow-capped Alpine peaks and the hilly landscape of Hegau. Walk across meadows and through forests to Engen, where you can stroll through the cosy old town.
Hotel (example): Engener Höhe
The meadow is surrounded by the ancient, long-extinct volcanic cones of the Hegau, the neighbouring Lake Constance and the majestic Alps. The seven Hegauberge mountains Hohentwiel, Hohenstoffeln, Hohenkrähen, Mägdeberg, Hohenhewen, Neuhewen and Höwenegg lie in a row next to each other. The remains of the Hohenhewen ruins can still be found in the 845 metre high mountain.
From the observation deck you can admire the Hegau and on clear days even Lake Constance and the Alps. Across an open field you can hike over the summit, past the Mägdeberg ruins to Singen with its many cultural monuments.
Hotel (example): Hotel Hohentwiel
The final tour leads past the old mansion ‘Friedinger Schlössle’ past Steisslingen to the ruins of Homberg, from where you have a wonderful view of Untersee with the island of Reichenau and the Mettnau peninsula in Radolfzell. Soon you leave Querweg and hike through the Mindelsee nature reserve over to Lake Constance.
Hotel (example): Hotel zur Schmide
Your hiking holiday from the Black Forest to Lake Constance is now over. You will leave the last hotel of the tour during the morning.
