Itinerary

See the day-by-day itinerary below.

Fly to Geneva or Lyon (or Paris) and continue by train to Dijon on your own.
From the train station, it’s about a 15-minute walk to your hotel.
Check-in at a family-run 3-star typical Burgundy hotel with a cozy atmosphere.

Our partner will welcome you at the hotel (at 7:00 PM or by arrangement) for an aperitif and a presentation of the program. Distribution of materials (tourist brochures, necessary vouchers, maps and tour descriptions in English, and good touring bikes with gears).

Hotel (example): Hotel des Ducs ***

Pack your bags and enjoy breakfast at the hotel before today’s bike ride, which takes you through agricultural land and vineyards towards the Côte de Nuits district.

You will follow the famous Route des Grands Crus to Vougeot and cycle through the iconic wine villages of Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, and Chambolle-Musigny in the heart of Côte de Nuits.

Then, you will leave Nuits-Saint-Georges and continue towards Beaune – Burgundy’s unofficial wine capital. A visit to the legendary Hospices de Beaune is a must, but the town also offers impressive wine cellars filled with fantastic crus. Take a stroll through the narrow, cobbled streets and feel the history of the region.

The evening ends with dinner at a charming restaurant in the center of Beaune, before you overnight in the town.

After breakfast, your bike ride begins through the vineyards along a scenic cycling route that takes you through some of Burgundy’s most famous wine villages: Pommard, Volnay, and the legendary Grands Crus vineyards like Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet.

Along the way, there will be plenty of opportunities for spontaneous wine tastings before you reach Santenay. Afterward, you’ll cycle back to Beaune, where an exciting wine tasting at one of the area’s impressive wine cellars is included in the afternoon.

The evening ends with a cozy overnight stay in Beaune.

Hotel (example): Hostellerie de la Bretonnière***

Spend the morning on your own in Beaune before travelling on. We particularly recommend a visit to the Hospices de Beaune, the region's most striking monumental building, originally built as a hospital for the poor back in 1443 by the wealthy Nicolas Rolin.
Known for its tiled roof and its beauty, Les Hospices de Beaune is now home to a hospital museum, an apothecary museum and a museum of art and tapestries.
