We offer high-quality surf lessons for all levels at Kabalana Beach. Including group lessons for beginners and surf coaching for experienced surfers. Kabalana Beach has a wide range of waves from a beach break for beginners to a reef break for experienced surfers. Our focus is on providing high quality instruction in Sri Lanka with our certified and highly experienced surf instructors. We run weekly theory surf lessons delivered by our instructors, including presentations and video analysis designed to accelerate your progress during the surf camp week.

 

A typical day at Surf Camp: Start with yoga or sunrise surfing before breakfast. Surf lessons in the morning and free surfing in the afternoon. In the evening, dinner is served followed by socialising with the other campers.

 

Whether it's your first time surfing or you've done it dozens of times before, our skilled instructors are guaranteed to help you reach the next level. Surfing is always done in small groups of surfers of the same level and video analysis of style and technique is used, so you can be sure that the foundation is in order.

While our main focus is to provide the highest quality surf lessons and surf coaching, we want to ensure that you experience a wide range of different activities outside of the surf lessons. During your stay, you can experience many fun surf camp activities such as magical sunsets, exploring hidden beaches, safaris, barbecues and much more. It's sure to be a surf holiday like no other.

 

Note: Tours to Udawalawe National Park, Galle Fort, Sinharaja Rain Forest and many other day and afternoon tours can be organised locally

Surf House

The surf house in Ahangama is located just 200 metres from Kabalana Beach, one of the most famous surf spots in Sri Lanka. Kabalana Beach is surrounded by a breathtaking landscape of white sandy beaches, clear blue water and tall palm trees. Hidden in this exotic scenery are many restaurants, beach bars and local surf shops, all of which have a passion for the surfing lifestyle and share their enthusiasm. Immerse yourself in a warm and welcoming atmosphere and enjoy a great surf holiday surrounded by good waves and good people.


The room can have a double bed or two single beds, whichever you prefer. Each double room has a private bathroom and air conditioning. The room is equipped with bedside tables, night lights, power sockets and a wardrobe.

Itinerary

The days are simple on this tour. There's surfing every day and in the evenings you can socialise with the other guests at the Surf House.

You'll arrive at the airport in Colombo, where you'll either be picked up or continue your journey. If you are picked up, there will be a person with a sign with your names on it. If not, find a taxi or rickshaw to take you to the train station in Colombo. It takes about 2½ hours to be driven all the way and 4-5 hours if you take the train yourself.
When you arrive at Surf Camp, you'll be shown to your room where you can relax.

You'll spend the days surfing as much as you want and otherwise experiencing so many of the incredibly exciting things that Sri Lanka has to offer. Surfing typically starts with a warm-up around 9am, followed by two hours of lessons divided by level. Lunch is served around noon, followed by a further two hours of tuition. In addition, yoga is also offered every day.

Then it's time to go home. You pack your bags and are driven to the airport (or take the train).

The price is based upon two people sharing. It is also possible travel alone in a single room. Simply choose "1 person" in the booking form and it will automatically add the single room surcharge.

On this tour you will be on your own supplied with maps, route descriptions and luggage transfers. That means that your time is your own and you have plenty of time to enjoy the stages in your own pace.

The booking process
When you book the trip, we will begin booking hotels and arranging all the practical aspects of your tour. This process typically takes 5–8 working days, but in some cases it may take longer for certain bookings. If you arrange your own transportation, we recommend waiting until we have confirmed your booking before making any arrangements.

Dates
If you can select a date in the trip calendar (in the booking form), then this is a possible start date. We regularly update our trips with sold-out dates; these dates will then appear in red/grey and cannot be selected.

You are resposible for finding your flight to Colombo.

Important: Once you have booked  the tour, you need to wait until we send you a confirmation email before booking your flight.

We have based the price on you staying in a dormitory. If you are travelling together, you can choose a double room. If you are travelling alone and want to stay on your own, you can choose a single room when you book your trip.

 

You will need a visa to enter Sri Lanka. You can get one for 30 USD here: http://www.eta.gov.lk/slvisa/ or you can buy one in the airport for 35 USD upon arrival.

We recommend taking out travel insurance that covers at least illness, accident, repatriation, lost holiday, luggage and liability. As a customer, you are responsible for taking out the necessary travel insurance to cover these costs.

Before taking out insurance, you should check whether you are already covered by travel or cancellation insurance through your home insurance company, credit card or similar - please note that there may be differences in insurance coverage.
