The route
Trails follow well-marked paths, often on sandy or soft tuff, making them comfortable underfoot. Daily hikes are typically 4–6 hours with moderate ascents/descents. The maximum ascent on this route is about 510 m and the maximum descent about 460 m, making it suitable for generally active walkers. Good walking shoes or light boots are recommended.
You’ll often be walking on tuff—a light, porous volcanic rock. It’s usually pleasant to walk on, but on steeper sections, or where the slope drops away, you should take care with your footing. Those with vertigo may find a few sections challenging.

From here, paths and farm tracks lead you through the rolling countryside and into Gomeda Valley, known for its multi-storey pigeon houses, abandoned rock-cut churches and scenic surroundings.
The hike ends in the historic village of Mustafapasa (Sinasos), where well-preserved Greek mansions and an authentic atmosphere give an insight into the area’s cultural heritage. Airport transfer
Regarding the airport transfer see more detailed info below.
Aiport shuttle transfer upon arrival
The airport shuttle transfer from either Nevsehir (NAV) or Kayseri (ASR)* airport upon arrival and departure is included in the package. This is a shared transfer with other travelers, and it stops at several hotels.
You will be met at the airport by staff with a sign and shown to the shuttle. The shuttle departs when it is full, so a short waiting time may occur.
Airport shuttle transfer for departure
In Mustafapasa, shuttle buses do not operate. Therefore, you will be taken by taxi to Ürgüp, where you will join the shuttle buses to the airport. If you are flying home from Nevsehir, the route passes by many hotels in Göreme to pick up guests before continuing to the airport. If you are flying home from Kayseri, the route from Ürgüp to the airport is more direct.
* If you arrive to the international terminal i Kayseri - with direct flight from outside of Turkey, the shuttle transfer is not an option, and you will have to purchace the private transfer.
All flights to the internal terminal i.e. flights with connection via Istanbul can still have the shuttle transfer.
TIP: If you wish to avoid the extra time involved with the shared shuttle bus solution, you can upgrade to a private transfer on the booking page. The shuttle ride takes approximately 20–40 minutes longer upon arrival and approximately 30–60 minutes longer than a private transfer upon departure (depending on the airport).
You will stay 5 nights at an atmospheric hotel in Göreme, in rooms with private bathroom/toilet.
Afterwards, you will have 2 nights in Mustafapasa at a charming hotel with private bathroom/toilet.
Extra nights
It is possible to add extra nights in both Göreme and Mustafapasa. This can be selected on the booking form.
In the itinerary, you can see some examples of the hotels we use on this trip. Please note that the hotels are only examples, and you may end up staying at other hotels. This depends on availability at the time you book the trip.
