Itinerary
Here you can see the programme for the week.
Macinaggio is a lovely harbour town north of Bastia. Depending on your arrival time, you can stroll along the picturesque harbour promenade, relax on the lovely sandy beach or explore the town's heritage by following a historic path that takes you past old buildings and chapels. You can also visit the historic Macinaggio Tower for breathtaking views. End the day enjoying Corsican food at a local restaurant, along with the relaxed maritime atmosphere.

Explore the furthest reaches of Cap Corse by following the customs officers' path, also known as the ’Sentier des Douaniers.’ This scenic walk will take you around the far reaches of the Cap Corse peninsula, revealing incredible history and natural beauty. Along the way, you'll encounter pristine beaches that look like secret paradises where crystal clear waters meet golden sand. You'll also discover abandoned watchtowers that stand as silent witnesses to the intense battles and protection missions that were once a crucial part of the island's history. The walk through this wild and scenic landscape is deeply fascinating and connects you to the drama of the past and the magnificent nature of the island.

As you embark on the trail from Barcaggio and follow the coastal cliffs on the west coast of Cap Corse, you enter a more challenging and adventurous part of your hike. The landscape changes dramatically and you'll discover the impressive grey cliffs that tower up and plunge steeply into the crystal clear sea. The path you follow harmonises with the natural contours of these cliffs and the coastal landscape, adding a certain challenge and adventure to your hike. The reward is the magnificent views of the sea and the incredible rock formations. You'll arrive in the tranquil harbour town of Centuri, where your accommodation awaits.
Hotel (example): La Jetée
Today's walk includes some of the more remote trails in Cap Corse. You'll walk from village to village, past chapels, churches and monasteries, all the way up to the slope of Notre Dame des Graces. From here you'll continue along the ridge overlooking Cap Corse before reaching the village of Seneque and your accommodation.
Hotel (example) GîteSeneque
From Seneque, continue along the mountain ridge that rises high above the picturesque villages along the coast. The views from this point are nothing short of impressive and allow you to admire the dramatic landscape. Along the way, you'll pass menhirs - standing stones of great historical and archaeological value. These stones bear witness to a distant past and cultural traditions. You'll continue past abandoned villages before arriving at Canari, which offers views of the Mediterranean Sea and the hilly terrain.
Hotel (example): Bon Clocher
After your stay in Canari, continue south and the landscape undergoes a dramatic transformation. You'll cross an impressive Genoese bridge before reaching the village of Ogliastro. Here the landscape changes again as you reach the coast and the village of Nonza with its dark pebble beach and majestic Pisan tower. Nonza is like something out of a postcard with its remarkable beauty. From here, a transfer will take you to the lively coastal town of Saint Florent. Here you should take time for a stroll along the charming harbour promenade and a tour of the historic centre, where the streets are narrow and the city's imposing church is enthroned.
Or maybe you just need a dip in the clear Mediterranean Sea.
