After breakfast at the hotel, you'll be picked up and driven to the ancient city of Petra. You'll take a guided tour of Petra (English-speaking guide) to see the city, often described as the eighth wonder of the world. It is arguably Jordan's most significant heritage site and one of the most visited places in Jordan. The city was carved out of the rocks by the Nabataea people who populated Jordan 2000 years ago. Petra was a strategic hub for ancient trade routes connecting Rome, Greece, China, India and Egypt. You'll take the magnificent entrance to the city (the Siq), arriving through the 1km-long gorge that you've probably seen in the Indiana Jones The Last Crusade film. You'll see the treasury, royal tombs, courthouse, temples, amphitheatre and church.
After the tour of Petra, you'll spend the night at your neighbouring hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, you'll be picked up and driven to Wadi Rum. Your tour begins with a two-hour jeep tour of the desert. Wadi Rum is also known as the ‘Valley of the Moon’ and you'll meet Bedouins who still live according to ancient customs. You can experience climbing, hiking and see caves with 4000-year-old drawings. You'll stay at the Bedouin camp Aladdin Camp and in the evening, you can enjoy the impressive starry sky.

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to the Dead Sea where you will spend the night in a hotel. The Dead Sea is known for its high salinity. The high concentration of salt allows you to float on the surface of the water. It is said that the water and mud of the Dead Sea has therapeutic properties due to its high mineral and salt content.
If you're more adventurous, the area next to the Dead Sea is home to one of the many scenic canyons that are unique to hiker.
The day can be spent in the water or walking around the area.

Now your journey is over. You'll be picked up from your hotel by the Dead Sea and taken to Amman airport. Please note that the flight home may be early in the morning.

The booking process
When you book the trip, we will begin booking hotels and arranging all the practical aspects of your tour. This process typically takes 5–8 working days, but in some cases it may take longer for certain bookings. If you arrange your own transportation, we recommend waiting until we have confirmed your booking before making any arrangements.
Dates
If you can select a date in the trip calendar (in the booking form), then this is a possible start date. We regularly update our trips with sold-out dates; these dates will then appear in red/grey and cannot be selected.
Transportation to/from Jordan is not included in the price. You need to fly and from Amman.
We recommend that you wait with booking the flight until we have confirmed your tour.
Airport transfer
No matter when you arrive in Jordan, we will make sure you are picked up and driven to your hotel. For example, it is perfectly fine to arrive in the middle of the night.
Here you can see a selection of some of the many outstanding dives you can experience in Aqaba, Jordan.
Cedar Pride
Wreck dive with or without penetration. This wreck is large (more than 80 metres from bow to stern) and offers something for everyone. You can enjoy an excellent dive without going deeper than 18 metres, and the entire wreck can be seen without exceeding 26 metres.
The wreck lies on its side and is incredibly well preserved, beautifully decorated with corals. It is possible to swim underneath the wreck as it rests on two coral reefs that form a small “valley” which can be dived through at around 26 metres.
There is also the option to penetrate the wreck, and in one specific spot at 22 metres you can even surface into an air pocket inside the wreck. This is one of the most popular dives in the area.
As a “small” bonus, there is a high chance of encountering the large Napoleon wrasse that lives around the wreck. It is very photogenic and not particularly shy.
Tarmac 5
A wreck of a barge where technical divers can enjoy themselves at around 50 metres. This wreck is located close to the Cedar Pride.
The Tank
A military tank that was cleared of hazardous materials and sunk at approximately 6 metres depth. Today it stands decorated with corals, its turret intact, and is surrounded by a cosy population of colourful fish.
The tank is usually visited in combination with either Oliver’s Canyon or 7 Sisters.
7 Sisters
A fantastic natural dive featuring colourful corals and seven large gorgonians (the “seven sisters”). The area boasts rich marine life, including many rays, moray eels, anemones with clownfish, and the chance to spot seahorses.
Oliver’s Canyon
An incredibly beautiful reef dive where you swim through a canyon with colourful coral slopes on both sides and a rich variety of fish life.
Japanese Garden
A very large reef area with vibrant corals, including a newly developing reef. Corals have been relocated here from an area designated for harbour construction and replanted, giving divers the chance to see a coral reef in its early stages of growth.
There is a good chance of seeing a fairly large sea turtle at Japanese Garden. It appears to live near one of the gorgonians and is not particularly shy, as long as it is given space to swim away when it has had enough.
Japanese Garden is an outstanding site for macro life and nudibranchs. This is a dive that rewards a slow and relaxed pace to fully appreciate the experience. The area is large and diverse enough for many dives, with several different routes through the garden. One route follows the edge of the reef down to approximately 36 metres – manta rays have been spotted on this dive.
Eel Garden and Eel Canyon
Two different dive sites with garden eels as the common highlight. It is fascinating to watch these eels standing upright from their burrows in large numbers. Both dives also offer the chance to see seahorses if you are lucky.
Gorgon 1 and Gorgon 2
Two separate dive sites. Both feature large gorgonians and an overwhelming abundance of marine life around them. These areas are home to a remarkable number of lionfish, along with all the other species typical of a true Red Sea coral reef.
Cable Reef
An area consisting of four large coral reefs, populated with vibrant corals and associated marine life. At the fourth reef, large cables are gradually being overgrown with corals, creating a unique and memorable experience as you swim among them.
First Bay North
A unique area with a massive coral reef stretching from 2 metres down to depths exceeding 40 metres. This site offers excellent opportunities for wall dives and for exploring the incredible diversity of corals found in the Red Sea.
Power Station
A true world-class deep dive. The dive unfolds across plateaus that gradually descend deeper and deeper. You can essentially continue as deep as your certification and curiosity allow.
It is possible to obtain a diving certification on this trip. In that case, it will be a 3–5 day PADI Open Water course. You will still have the same number of diving days, but the first days will be used for the certification.
If you want to take a diving certificate on your trip, you can opt for it when you book.
Here you can read our guide to diving certification.
The course is divided into three phases
- Theory - You learn the basic principles of diving
- Confined Water dives - You'll make your first dives in a safe environment (e.g. a swimming pool or shallow water). You'll be trained in basic techniques.
- Open Water dives - You'll make your first four dives in the ocean. Here you use the techniques you learnt in the previous confined water dives.
PADI E-Learning
We recommend completing the theory in advance through a PADI e-learning course. The e-learning is not included in the price and therefore comes at an additional cost. The e-learning course can be purchased directly on PADI’s website.
In order to take the diving licence, you must have completed this document. The rule is that if you can answer no to everything on page 1, you do not need to see a doctor. If you can answer yes to something, then you need to see a doctor and the doctor needs to complete and sign page 2.
Breakfast is included every day. Lunch is included on the boat diving trips, and in Wadi Rum both lunch and dinner are also included. Dinner is also included in Petra and at the Dead Sea.
On this trip, you can choose between two different categories of accommodation.
Category B: 3- and 4-star hotels (and Aladdin camp in Wadi Rum)
Category A: 5-star hotels (and Aladdin Camp in Wadi Rum)
Breakfast is included at all hotels.
We recommend taking out travel insurance that covers at least illness, accident, repatriation, lost holiday, luggage and liability. As a customer, you are responsible for taking out the necessary travel insurance to cover these costs.
