Isar Cycle Path and Bavarian Lakes
Self-guided cycling tour through Bavaria's stunning lake region, covering approximately 330 km over 6 cycling days. The route leads from Munich through Forstenrieder Park to Lake Starnberg, past the Osterseen lakes to Murnau am Staffelsee, through the Murnauer Moos nature reserve to Garmisch-Partenkirchen at the foot of the Zugspitze, via the Isar River source and Lake Sylvenstein to Bad Tölz, around Lake Tegernsee, and back to Munich. Moderate difficulty with some steep climbs on well-maintained cycle paths and forest trails.

Highlights on this tour
In general, this is a fairly easy tour. There are a few steep climbs, which can be overcome by pulling the bike. You cycle on good cycle paths and along small roads. There are only a few short stretches along busy country roads. The route is mostly on asphalt, with some longer stretches along well-maintained forest paths.
