Self-guided cycling tour along the Moselle River from Trier to Koblenz. The route follows paved paths through renowned wine regions including Bernkastel-Kues and Cochem. Highlights include Roman monuments in Trier, medieval Burg Eltz castle, and charming wine villages. Daily distances range from 35-50 km on mostly flat, well-signposted terrain suitable for families with moderate fitness.
Several vineyards on both sides of the Moselle River and stunningly beautiful scenery accompany you on this delightful cycling holiday. The tour takes you along 2000 years of Roman history, cycling through historic towns and charming villages while enjoying the delicious wines that can be tasted everywhere.
The tour starts in Trier, Germany's oldest city, which can be seen in the many Roman monuments in the city. You'll also have the opportunity to visit the famous amphitheater in the area and the Porta Nigra. If you're interested in wine, we also recommend a stop in Neumagen-Drohn, Germany's oldest wine village.

The Moselle route is mostly on paved roads and cycle paths and is signposted throughout. There are only short stretches where you can expect some traffic. The tour is an easy cycling vacation and is ideal for families. The tour usually requires good health.
