France - Cycling from Bordeaux to Toulouse

You will follow the Garonne canal, the extension of the Canal du Midi that connects Toulouse to the Mediteranean Sea. This section is called the “Canal des Deux Mers” (the canal of the two seas), connecting the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediteranean Sea: a fantastic route between vineyards and medieval villages, along the Garonne. You will venture across beautiful towns and cultural sites like Moissac… and don’t forget the gastronomy, truly inescapable in this region!

This wonderful cycling holiday starts in Bordeaux and on the green line on 50km to Sauveterre de Guyenne and by country of Sauterne, 26km of small roads to Réole, you will follow the Garonne canal until Toulouse.

About the route
Stages from 37 to 67km per day according to the programme, 2 to 5h bike per day. The terrain is flat. Hybrid bikes are perfect for this type of tour. Mountain bikes are not essential but possible. From Bordeaux, the route profile has a few ascents and descents but becomes flat when you reach the canal. You can expect excellent road surfacing.
