After eight succesfull Yin Yoga Treats in Portugal and Sri Lanka with our very own yin yoga specialist, Kristine Marie Rost, we have made a last-minute decision and set up a Yin Yoga Treat in Greece. We are going to the island of Kalymnos and departure is not far off. In this tour we include the four hours daily yin yoga as in all other of Kristine’s retreats. To this we have added Marie Klee who will cook high-quality and inspiring plant-based food for lunch and dinner.
Kristine is known for making sure that you feel that you have used your body and that you return home with notably improved breathing – not just because of the fresh air but also because of the many yoga-hours that are included. Kristine is aware that her sessions can be hard, direct and without a lot of focus on spirituality. For Kristine, a yin yoga retreat is all about getting those shoulders to fall back into place, better mobility in the hips and ankles all while you leave your every-day-troubles behind. Once you surrender to Kristine’s experienced guidance, every-day-life will seem much easier to return to. The worst we ever hear from guests in Kristine’s retreats is that they have become addicted to her yin yoga (which of course is not a bad thing at all). This is also part of the reason that we have found a new place this year: the many returning guests who have been on 2-3 previous retreats quite simply need a new place this year. A new beach where you can relax and read your book, taste new food (within reason and within Kristine's recommendations), and new places to drink coffee.
We arrive to Hotel Elies (se how to get there in practical info below). Once we have checked in to the hotels you can relax until 16:00 when the first yoga session starts.
Our mornings start with our kickstarter-drink: A freshly pressed local lemon.
After yoga we enjoy a great brunch primarily made with local produce and based on vegetables - without loss of flavour and nutrition.
The days can be spent hiking, relaxing by the pool or beach, visiting the neighbouring island Telendons (which has no cars), try scuba diving, snorkling, rock climing or something different.
Late afternoon we continue with yoga.
Depending on the sunset-view it is time for dinner. Local produce and again mainly focused on vegetables. We suggest wine with dinner.
Time to head back. The Yin Yoga Treat is over.
