Spain - Surfing in Lanzarote

There are few places in the world where the atmosphere is as relaxed as in the surf camp in Lanzarote. You can almost hear the “aaaahhhh”, whenever a new guest arrives, and that is exactly the point of it all. You stay in the Surf House – or one of the bungalows – where you meet many different people. The days are spent surfing and the evenings can be spent with the others in the Surf House - or you can take it easy and rest the sore muscles.

Lanzarote is an excellent surfing destination and the village, Famara – often called “European Hawaii” – is a hotspot in the surfing-world. Every year, in October, the “La Santa Pro” is held in Famara as part of the Surfing World Championships. It takes place on the San Juan-beach a few hundred meters from the village. Famara has a multi-cultural mix of people from all over the world and has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. In town you will find several bars, restaurants, shops, and supermarkets.

Caleta de Famara is on the northern not-too-touristy coast of Lanzarote and Famara Beach offers surfing for all levels.

In the surfing-courses, there are never more than six students per instructor, which ensures that you get a more personal experience.

Surf House

There are two Surf Houses 10 meters from one another. The houses have a nice and relaxed atmosphere and are great places to unwind and meet new people. The houses both have fully equipped kitchens, where you can cook food if you want. The houses also have great terrasses which can be used for barbeques and other acitivites. The houses are roughly 50 meters from the many activities in the village, such as restaurants, bars, shops, and supermarkets.

There are several different room-types in the Surf House and you can choose to stay in a dorm or in a private room.
