More about the route
You cycle on cycle paths and side roads. The first two stages are predominantly flat. After that there is a rather hilly route. On the stage from Bra to Barolo to Alba there are also a few longer climbs to cycle. In the towns you will cycle on roads with heavier traffic.
You arrive at your first hotel in Turin. In the evening you will receive a personal briefing about the tour and the delivery of your bikes. Italy's first capital awaits you with a lot of sights!
On cycle paths and side roads you cycle along the River Po. You should take time to visit the Rococo Palace of Stupinigi, designed by architect Filippo Juvarra. This palace was the residence of the Savoy family for many years. Through parks and along rivers you continue to Penerolo, famous for its famous cavalry school.
You cycle along beautiful paths past orchards and vineyards to Cavour with its picturesque fortress "Rocca" - a hill in the middle of the flat landscape. Then you reach medieval Saluzzo.
Today you will pass by the beautiful palaces of Manta and Costigliole. You should visit Benevagienna - a town with Roman roots - and its archaeological excavations. Then continue to Cherasco and Bra, the gourmet capital. The Slow Food organisation was founded here.
In Pollenzo - also a city with Roman roots - lies the University of "Taste". After Barolo, you'll have to tackle some hills, but you'll be rewarded with Italy's best wine afterwards. You have to try it! Along the Tanaro River you continue to Alba (which is very famous for its truffles).
You are cycling today in the Roero region. On the way you will see the palaces of Guarene and Cisterna - the museum can be visited. You stay overnight in Asti, a very cultural city. It is famous for its sparkling wine and the rivalry of the Palio.
Your bike ride takes you along small paths and rivers back to Turin, where you started. Along the way you'll discover romantic villages. In Chieri, tasty vines tempt you to have another glass of wine before returning to Turin by train.
Today the tour ends. You leave the last hotel in the morning and head home or out into the big wide world.
