Itinerary
Individual arrival in Harderwijk, unless you bring your own bikes, the rental bikes are stored in the hotel garage. Discover the medieval trading town. A walk through the town will almost always take you past the Church of Our Lady (Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk). It's a basilica with a three-part elevation from the 14th and 15th centuries. You'll stay one night in Harderwijk.

Enjoy the Arkemheen-Eemland National Park and the wide, flat landscape with its unusual vegetation. Black-tailed godwits strut across the moors. Cycle along the banks of the Randmeren to Huizen, the twin village on the Eemmeer with a costume and fishing museum. Naarden is a beautiful town in the green Gooi region and one of the best preserved fortress towns in Europe. It was one of the most important defences of the New Dutch Water Line, which still amazes people today. You'll spend the night in Bussum/Naarden/nearby.

Travelling along the IJsselmeer, you'll come to the medieval water castle ‘Muidenschloss’. Your way leads you to Amsterdam. Enjoy the historic buildings, the magnificent museums and the cosy atmosphere. Take a canal cruise, walk through Vondelpark, visit the floating flower market and shop in the old town. Amsterdam is truly unique! Due to the short stage, you'll have plenty of time to explore this beautiful city. You'll spend the night in Amsterdam.
Hotel (example): TBA
After a few kilometres you'll reach the typical old Dutch town of Monnickendam, a real harbour town. Enjoy a relaxing bike ride along the IJsselmeer to Volendam, Katwoude or Hoorn. Enjoy your breaks in traditional fishing villages that have a past as thriving trading towns. Volendam is famous for its costumes and is said to be home to a delicious smoked eel. You'll spend the night in Volendam/Katwourde or Hoorn.

In Edam, you'll soon realise that the city has more to offer than its world-famous cheese. Hoorn is a small shopping paradise with many terrace cafés and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy life.
The picturesque town of Enkhuizen attracts thousands of tourists every year. Some love it for its many historic buildings and monuments, others for its harbour and excellent water sports facilities. Take a walk around the city and visit the Zuiderzee Museum with its recreated old Zuiderzee town. You'll spend the night in Enkhuizen.

Cross the waves of the IJsselmeer by ferry (not included) before landing in Stavoren. Discover the nostalgic charm of the oldest of the eleven Frisian towns in the Netherlands. Cycle through the gently sloping and wooded Gaasterland with its cliffs to Lemmer or nearby. The cosy town centre with its many terraces right on the water, the cafés and the many attractions, such as the old lock, represent the joie de vivre of the town. You'll spend the night in Lemmer.
Hotel (example): TBA
You'll cycle through the National Park ‘De Weerribben’. Canoeists are not the only ones who love this marshland, which is home to rare plants and animals - thanks to the many canals. One of the jewels of Blokzijl is the historic harbour area.
It is not surprising that it is a protected cultural heritage site. The nature landscape De Wieden borders the Weerribben. Together they form the largest continuous flat moorland in Western Europe. Zwartsluis (the black lock) took over the role of a transit harbour for peat in the 18th century.
It has had a tradition of trade and shipping for centuries and this is still evident today. In this trading town you will see more than 500 monuments, including the Sint Nicolaaskerk, the Gothic Huis, the city gates and a replica of the medieval trading ship ‘De Kamper Hanze Kogge’. You'll spend the night in Kampen.
Hotel (example): TBA
When you cycle along the dam, you'll come to Elburg. The traditional sailing ships, originally called ‘Botte’, were once used for fishing. Travelling along Lake Veluwe, you'll return to your starting point: Harderwijk. Here the tour ends where it started.
If you want to spend an extra night in Harderwijk, you can opt for this when you book your tour.
